As men and women age, hormone levels in the body go down. These include estrogen, progesterone, and testosterone. Symptoms that are very common to men or women, who are near or past the age of menopause, and can lower their quality of life. We can treat this so it doesn't have to be that way...
Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy (BHRT) is one of the most effective and safe forms of hormone therapy available today for both women and men experiencing the side effects of imbalanced hormones. BioTE pellets use hormones derived from natural plant sources to replicate the body’s optimal hormonal levels.
Bioidentical hormones are derived from a natural plant source & professionally compounded to be biologically identical to the human form of estradiol & testosterone. Because the hormones used are completely natural, Pellet Therapy is ideal for patients wanting the benefits of a natural hormone, without the drawbacks of a synthetic.
Pellets contain a natural plant source of estrogen and testosterone. Smaller than a grain of rice, they are placed in the fatty tissue underneath the skin & most closely mimic the release of hormones into the bloodstream by your own ovaries / testicles.
Unlike typical forms of oral & transdermal therapy – which produce “roller coaster” hormone levels, resulting in mood & energy fluctuations – the pellet, is the only method that provides sustained hormone levels throughout the day, lasting between 4 to 6 months, without any of the “roller coaster” effects.
The first step to BHRT is a consultation. We can determine if you are eligible for BHRT after an in-office appointment and extensive lab work. If you are a candidate for BHRT using pellets, they are ready for a pellet insertion.
During an in-office visit, you'll be brought into the exam room, & the insertion site is numbed. A small incision is made & the hormone pellet is inserted. The insertion site will then be covered with a small bandage. The pellet dissolves, & the body absorbs the contents, leaving nothing behind.
After the procedure, abstain from lower body exercise for a short period of time. Walking is fine, but more strenuous exercise is not recommended. Showers are permitted but the site should not be completely submerged in water. After the bandage is removed, you can resume normal exercise & swimming routines.
